Ocelots Downed By Bears In Extras
DETROIT, MI – As they opened up their season series with Mott, the Ocelots played host for a single 9-inning game.
The Ocelot offense would come to play as the team would log 11 hits, led by Owen Elsey with 3 hits. Each team scored a run in the 1st inning, Braylon Schroeder with an RBI single, but outside on 2 runs from the Ocelots in the 3rd, things would be quiet throughout the game. Schoolcraft would lead 3-2 going into the 8th inning when the game would change. Mott would lead off the inning with a home run, tying the game, and go on to score 3 more runs to take control of the game. The Ocelots wouldn't bow down to the fight, scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th, with the tying run scoring on a wild pitch, to take the game into extras. Hitting a 2-out single in the top of the 10th, Mott would take a 2 run lead into the bottom of the 10th. Once again, Schoolcraft wouldn't lay down. An Owen Elsey single would cut the Mott lead to just 1 but an ensuing double play would see Schoolcraft strand the tying run at 3rd base to fall 8-7.
Schoolcraft finishes the 9-inning schedule by traveling to Macomb on Saturday for a first pitch at noon.
