5 Ocelots Earn Season Honors

LIVONIA, Mi - The MCCAA announced their 2026 baseball regular season honors with 5 Ocelots seeing their names on the lists.

Noah McCann- The sophomore catcher for the Ocelots would see his regular season be rewarded with being named to the Eastern Conference's 2nd team. Over 47 games played, McCann would slash .333/.489/.444 while driving in 34 runs on the season. McCann's lone home run on the season would come early in the year in a 17-12 win over Vincennes University on February 16th. Behind the plate for the Ocelots, McCann would 39 runners try to steal on him but 14 of them would be caught stealing for a 35.9% caught stealing rate. 

Tashawn Eatmon- Tashawn Eatmon would once again find himself on the awards list with his name coming up on the Eastern Conference 2nd team, just like McCann. Eatmon would appear in 43 games for the Ocelots while hitting .336 with an on base percentage of .423 and a slugging percentage of .427. Eatmon be a burner on the base paths as his 32 stolen bases on the season would bring him up to 59 in his career as an Ocelot, making him #1 in Schoolcraft College Baseball history for career stolen bases. 

Tony Mendez- The sophomore outfielder for the Ocelots was named to the Eastern Conference Honorable Mention team. In 141 plate appearances for the Ocelots, Mendez would hit .316 with a .436 on base percentage. His .436 OBP would be ided by 19 walks and 6 hit by pitches on the season. Mendez's lone home run of the season came in a 9-4 loss to Minnesota North College - Vermillion on March 10th. 

Elijah Schroeder- The freshman 1st baseman would also be named to the Eastern Conference Honorable Mention team. In 112 at bats, Schroeder would be 2nd on the team in home runs with 5 long balls. The freshman's 1st career home run would come on February 16th as Vincennes when he would hit a long ball in both games of the doubleheader.

Jace Walerski - The other freshman 1st baseman on the team would follow Mendez and Schroeder on being named to the Honorable Mention team. Walerski would lead the team in home runs with 6 long balls. In the Henry Ford series, Walerski would slug 3 home runs in the series while bringing in 7 runs. For the entire season, Walerski would hit .318 with a .617 slugging percentage and 27 RBI's in 107 at bats.
