Ocelots Roll to 8th Win

LIVONIA, MI – The Ocelots welcomed in Parkland College from Champaign, Illinois for a nonconference showdown.

Schoolcraft would come out of the gates looking for a big win and would show up. In the 1^st quarter, the Ocelots would only allow 6 points while holding Parkland to just 7.7% from the field. 15 of Schoolcraft's 23 1^st quarter points would come from Sharon Smith who would go 6-6 from the field. There would be little doubt for the rest of the game. In the 2^nd quarter, Schoolcraft would again outscore Parkland, by 2 points, with Smith leading the way in the quarter again with 6 points.

Tings would remain steady in the 2^nd half for Schoolcraft. Outscoring the Cobras 16-10 in the 3^rd quarter, Schoolcraft would take a 53-28 lead into the 4^th quarter. Parkland would win the 4^th quarter by just 1 point as the Ocelots would walk away with a 69-45 victory.

For the game, Sharon Smith would lead all scorers with 28 points while Garyana Overton would tack on 12 points and Raegan Byrd would score 11 points. Byrd would also fall 1 rebound short of a double-double, leading the team with 9 and Siena McNitt would lead the team with 5 assists.

The Ocelots stay at home as they host Edison State on Wednesday beginning at 5:30PM.
