Ocelots Honor Sophomores With A Big Win

LIVONIA, MI – The Ocelots hosted near by Henry Ford Community College looking to win their 6th game in a row.

Henry Ford would play above their 2-22 record coming into the contest. During the first 10 minutes of play, Henry Ford would shoot 47.6% from the field, on their way to 22 1st quarter points. Schoolcraft would still have the advantage after the 1st as Siena McNitt and Sharon Smith would lead the Ocelots to 25 points. Schoolcraft would extend their lead in the 2nd quarter by outscoring the Hawks 16-10. The score at halftime read 41-32 Schoolcraft.

Things would get blown open in the 2nd half, thanks to a 32-11 3rd quarter for Schoolcraft. 7 different Ocelots would score in the 3rd quarter, including Mariah Scott and Raegan Byrd tying for the team lead with 7 points. A 25-9 4th quarter would lead to a 98-52 victory for the Ocelots.

4 different Ocelots would register double figures as Garyana Overton would score 10, Daija Brown would score 11, Sharon Smith would score 15 and Mariah Scott would lead the team with 16. Smith would lead the team in rebounds with 10 on her way to a double double.

Schoolcraft returns to the floor on Saturday in a huge matchup as they travel to Jackson College. The Jets took down Schoolcraft by a score of 67-65 back in January.
